Card in Apple Wallet not showing up in Apple Pay

I am trying to set up Apple Pay. I have a card I use frequently in my wallet. But when I try to add the card from my wallet it says I don’t have a compatible card and to “check my storefront.” I have a US credit card and assume my country/region is set as the US because there is no reason it would be otherwise. I however, can’t check from my phone because of subscriptions I currently have.
