I first thought I had some dirt on my screen, but since updating to iOS 16.0.2 my iPhone shows “4G” in the upper left corner. On the screenshot, the entire text is visible - on the screen, I can only seem some white pixels.
This seems to be a bug?

You are using a wallpaper that is a screenshot of an iPhone home screen. The 4G is is the screen shot. Use a different wallpaper and the 4G will go away..

Yes, clearly a bug. I experience the same, but if I reboot, the 4G logo goes away.
Nope - the wallpaper has no “4G” on it:

The “4G” will stay even if I switch to the new “Earth Detail” wallpaper:
