iPad Pro (4th Generation)

Hi, my IPad Pro (4th Gen) currently has iOS 15.6.1 and will not allow me to download iOS 15.7. It just keeps giving me the following error message: “Software Update Failed An error occurred downloading iPadOS 15.7.” I have already tried resetting my connections and ultimately just erased everything on this iPad, reset it and used a iCloud backup to restore it. I currently only show 41.3 GB of 256 GB of the storage being used.

Also, for some reason, my video streaming services are no longer working on this iPad: Netflix, HBO, YouTube, etc all indicate that I don’t have an internet connection when I do. In fact, I can use the internet, get my email and use other apps without any issue. I’ve tried attempted to reinstalling apps but that doesn’t work because the App Store also shows that I don’t have an internet connection (which I clearly do since I’m submitting this post using the same iPad).

Any help would be appreciated!

Internet connection difficulties are usually an indication that your device does not have a routable IP Address - your IP Address usually being assigned by DHCP - or there is a problem with the device network routing table.

If you have a VPN App or profiles installed, or a security App such as Norton, these may be interfering with network routing. The resolution is usually simple; if installed, you may only need to temporarily disable or remove the Security App and/or VPN App and profile.

After removing these components, perform a forced-restart of your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

After performing the restart, If this resolves your issue, the VPN and/or security App can be reinstated.
