She can hear me but is never able to send messages, report the weather or anything. This started after using CarPlay with a Toyota Corolla rental car!

Your best bet is to go to settings Siri and turn on and off the Siri toggle. If that dose not work try restarting your device. If all that does not work I recommend contacting apple.

I find that Siri will only reply if I click on the large Siri circle after I ask my question. What junk! Has Apple done this to keep people from getting hands-free Siri on a mac mini without buying a display?
Thank you, I have tried that and ever reset all of my data. The microphone is working as I can use it but Siri can’t seem to communicate with any apps.
