Text message will not delete. iOS 16.0.3

Using iOS 16.0.3. Also on 16.0.2. iPhone SE gen 2. There is one text message that will not delete. I tried on 16.0.2.

it swipes for delete. Goes through the motions, as if it was going to delete the message, seems to shuffle around the messages below it, but at the end of the animation, the message is still there.

I waited for 16.0.3.

the problem still occurs

if it matters, it was a spam text message. The number has been blocked by me. Other numbers from spam senders are blocked by me and are successfully deleting.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. If you add the text message sender as a contact, then delete, what are the results? Have you restarted your iPhone since noticing the issue? Be sure to follow the steps and article below for deleting text messages.
