Hello,
Hmm, I've not had any issues with mine. I also just keep it in my pocket. If you are concerned, you might consider a screen protector similar to this:

Good luck.
Some people never have a car accident and then immediately get into one five minutes after buying their expensive dream car.
Independent tests have shown the screen is no more scratch-prone than any other going back years.
I have the 14 pro max, it's awful the screen. And for people saying to put a screen protector why would i add an aftermarket part to my phone that is supposed to be scratch resistant?
Apple needs to get better glass, my apple watch ultra has 0 scratch on it and i wear it to do indoor bouldering (rock climbing)
There is no better glass.
You use a screen protector because despite being scratch resistant, scratches can still occur.
It's like not washing or waxing your car because the paint is clear coated.
I have owned iphones for years - first model which has scratched significantly. I have broken screens in past, but never “scratched” them like this one.
Then it’s doing its job; modern screens are slightly less scratch-resistant but much less brittle as a result as compared to the original iPhone screen.
Adding an inexpensive screen protector prevents scratches but can’t stop a more brittle screen from shattering.
I owned iPhone XR for over five years card in my pocket with no screen protector and they were pretty much zeros scratches.
I have owned an iPhone 14 plus for a little over a month carrying it the same way the same clothes and I’ve gotten multiple really visible small scratches and two long scratches something is up.
funny as I was never peddled a screen protector in the past, but this time I was, and I was like no I don’t need it because of how mine was in such good condition for five years in one case that was falling apart when I upgraded.

As Dogcow-Moof noted in the post just above yours, the type of glass used has changed over the years. It is more shatter resistant but somewhat less scratch resistant. For most people, this is a good trade-off as a phone with a shattered screen is much less usable than one with some scratches on it.
Same experience - had i known the screen technology is inferior to previous models, i would have for the first time, used a screen protector.
now considering if i should apple care and have screen swapped and buy a screen protector.

That may or may not be an option. AppleCare doesn't cover cosmetic damage. If the scratches don't interfere with function, Apple may not be willing to replace the screen.
Yeah it's been bad, mine is 2 months old and has more scratches by far then my 12 pro max had in 2 years. I keep in in my pocket alone with nothing else.
disappointed in my 14 pro max
Independent tests show the screen on the 14 Pro Max is exactly as scratch-resistant as the one on the 12 Pro Max.

Interesting. My independent test says otherwise.
Had mine since it first came out - always had iPhones and never had a screen protector. No issues. My iPhone 14 Pro Max has so many scratches, i can't see the text properly now. It's terrible. I am very careful with my phones and couldn't understand why this was happening until I realised everyone had the same issue
Please tell us of your methodology, hopefully using standard Mohs scratch test tools.
It’s ridiculous how easily the iPhone 14 screen is getting scratched. How can you produce a phone this expensive, and say that this is the strongest type of glass you’ve ever put in a phone while actually it’s a horrible choice of material?
I truly hope that Apple will come up with a replacement plan for this type of screen… Definitely disappointed and would have chosen a different phone instead if I knew this in advance.
Is there a possibility to swap out parts through the Apple Care plan for this?
