magic mouse sensitivity problem

hi i have a bad habit of resting my left finger on a magic mouse while not clicking. And since the whole magic mouse surface is a scrollable surface, while i am designing, my artwork moves in a all directions because the left finger is doing micro-movements while touching the mouse, Before Catalina and monteray i used MagicPrefs to limit the scrollable areal to the center of the mouse, but it no longer works correctly. By that i mean, while magic prefs are running, there is no intertia scroll in browsers.

? i tried not touching the mouse with fingers but its not working=))

I found some other 3. party apps, but none of them does the job.

Thank you.

Funnily enough, I thought resting your finger on the mouse improved usability. From what I recall years ago, doing that established a small dead zone which ensured the touch control wasn't going to register every small shift in pressure. I have a tendency to lift my finger off the surface and have been experiencing the same problem.

It just goes to show how temperamental this stupid mouse is. You'd think after all these years Apple would offer settings to fine tune functionality especially given that complaints go back a decade. I'd love the ability to deactivate touch controls until I hold down a key or, at the very least, have the option of expanding the dead zone.

I only started using this thing again because recently my SO got an iMac and wanted to stick with her old mouse. I've been using it for about a month but I think I'm going back to my wireless Logitech. Whatever benefits the touch surface offers just isn't worth the constant frustration.
