Messenger won’t load / won’t work / only white screen loading forever.

My Messenger app, on my Ipad pro suddenly broke. I cannot use it at all. It’s just forever loading, nothing but a while screen with the turning loading icon in the middle.

I tried uninstalling it, turning the ipad off and on and reinstalling it many times, but nothing changes.

I don’t know what might have gone so wrong with that app all of a sudden.

To me it seems like some system file about it is corrupted somehow and uninstalling it doesn’t remove that broken data, so when I reinstall it nothing changes. At least that’s what I think.

How can I fix it?

Okay, I finally fixed it! 

I think it’s a bug happened because of the ad's they squeezed in among the chats and I probably accidentally touched it and it’s been stuck trying to load a web page. I noticed it when I cut the internet and tried to open Messenger, and I got this:


Anyway, the fix is, open Facebook app on your PHONE, go to “settings / security and login” and log out from all devices. (Or just your iPad)

Then go to your iPad and login to the Messenger from scratch like logging in on a new device for the first time. And done.

As you mentioned that you were able to delete it, then redownload the 'Messenger' app, we're guessing that you're talking about the Facebook Messenger app.


If that's right, or if you're using a different third-party app, we recommend trying the remaining steps here as they address issues with third-party apps:



1. "Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

 

2. Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

 

3. Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

 

4. Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."

Nope. Even after the latest IOS 16 update didn’t fix it.

Nothing works.

And I don’t want to try a full reset as I’m again going to restore everything from cloud as they are, so I think the bug or corrupted file, whatever it is, will be restored back too anyway.

I don’t understand why deleting and reinstalling messenger doesn’t help.

Messenger won’t load / won’t work / only white screen loading forever.
