My daughters watch has all my contacts even though she's signing into family sharing!

Hi,

I just upgraded to a new Iwatch so I gave my series 5 to my daughter. I reset the phone and signed into family sharing using my daughters details. I went through all the standard set up protocols, however when I look at the contacts app she has all my contacts on her watch. Please help?

On the family organizer/parent's iphone go to Settings>Apple ID>Family Sharing>Screen Time>(Select family member who's contacts to manage)>Communication Limits. Then toggle Manage xx's Contacts off then back on. On the child's watch click allow to manage contacts. Now you will be able to manage child's contacts on parent's iphone.

Apple Watch Via Family Sharing Not Syncing Contacts with iCloud Hey community, I recently setup three new watches for my kids via Family Sharing. Each kid has their own iCloud account. Two of the watch setups went smoothly, the third however is a bit frustrating. I can update the child's contact list with my phone just fine. Their iCloud account syncs those contacts just fine. However... The Contacts app on the watch won't sync the contacts. The watch is signed in and shows up and respond to Find My. I've reset, restarted, turned contact syncing off and on on the watch, unpaired and repaired the watch and just nothing. Any suggestions?

Hello Kylie211,

If you're planning to give an old Apple device to someone else, you'll want to make sure you erase it to remove all your data first. For an Apple Watch, you can use these steps to erase it:

Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
Go to General > Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then enter your passcode.

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Apple Watch, or buy one from someone else

Once it has been reset, the new user can then set it up and pair it with their iPhone so all of their data syncs to it.
