How to disable the real-time colour management built into macOS?

It's especially noticeable when watching videos in full screen - the depth of colour is lost and the bright areas become even more contrasting, losing detail. But as soon as you move the cursor or any element of the interface appears, everything instantly returns to normal. As far as I remember from searching for information earlier - it's a built-in macOS feature. What service is responsible for it? How can it be found and disabled? (The same service is noticeable in iOS by the way)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Are you saying that the color on the same video changes, depending on whether it is being shown in full screen or in a window, for example?

Perhaps - perhaps - you are referring to "true tone"? (This, AFAICT, is only available in some of the most recent macs. What is your mac model?)

If your mac supports True Tone, you can turn it on or off in System Preferences->Displays. See if that helps.
