I just received my new I-Phone pro yesterday. Call my provider to install the e-simm, that came out ok except I found out today that I only receive texts from people in my contact lists. I can send out and receive texts from my contact lists. But from outside telephone numbers, I can's receive texts. Like 2 factor authentication, when they send me 4 or 5 numbers or letters to my phone number. Is this something that can be fixed via Apple, or do I have to call my provider? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris.

We'd recommend looking over the tips here:

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If this issue is only with SMS (green bubbles) messages, especially given this happened after swapping to a new device, we'd recommend reaching back out to your carrier if the above steps don't resolve it. SMS messages would be routed through their network rather than Apple's iMessage network.

If you encounter this issue with iMessages ( blue bubbles) as well, let us know.
