You have a SSD not HDD—

PNY CS900 240GB SSD 240.06 GB (Solid State - TRIM: No) Internal SATA 6 Gigabit Serial ATA

did you replace the SATA cable when you installed the SSD (?)— this is a known point of failure

if you upgrade your existing SSD I most definitely would replace the SATA at the same time.

Like wise I have always enabled TRIM ...

First, your SSD is grossly underperforming. It be doing close to 500MB/sec and yours is doing:

Performance:

Write speed: 27 MB/s

Read speed: 145 MB/s

😳

I have the very same computer as you but with an OWC Electra 6G SSD, and these are its EtreCheck scores:

Performance:

    Write speed: 486 MB/s

    Read speed: 480 MB/s

BIG difference.

Your original mech hard drive could write at 70-80MB/se so your drive is seriously messed up. Things to consider or check:

  • Not all SSDs work properly in Macs. For this type of conversion I use only OWC or the Crucial MX (not "BX") series.
  • As PNY RAM has been problematic in intel Macs, I wonder about their SSDs.
  • In this Mac model, ALWAYS change the hard drive CABLE when you install a new drive, The cable, mind-blowing as it seems, is a ""wear" part. Its thin insulation and proximity to sharp metal edges on the chassis make wear due to normal vibration a real thing.
  • You probably need to enable TRIM on the SSD. even my OWC SSD started slow after about three years of use.

HOWEVER...

Before doing anything else, completely remove Ccleaner and anything else that claims to clean, disinfect, optimize, or find you Mac a mate, The mac OS has for over 20 years been self-cleaning and self-maintaining. Any of the 3rd party cr@p claiming to do all that only interferes with the elegant and automated maintenance routines that you paid Apple good money to program into the OS.

If you need information on enabling TRIM, please post back.

Your Kernel Panics are referencing an SMC issue, so this likely indicates a problem with the Logic Board. You can attempt an SMC Reset to see if that helps.

You can try checking the health of the SSD by running DriveDx and posting the complete text report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper. FYI, SSD health reports should be manually inspected & interpreted since "Warning" or "Failing" notices don't always mean the SSD is bad, it just means to check the report to see whether those reported issues are indeed something to worry about. Most users will usually need to share the report with someone knowledgeable about interpreting SSD health.

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. It may detect a bad battery since the battery condition is "Service Battery". And it may show a problem with the third party SSD which can sometimes be normal (no way to tell unless you ran the Apple Diagnostics after first installing the new SSD to have a baseline with the diagnostic results).

I also agree with uninstalling CCCleaner. At one time it may have been a good app at least for Windows systems, but one of the anti-virus vendors acquired them and ruined their software. Besides, macOS does not need any cleaning apps, anti-virus apps, or third party security software.

I would not spend any money on this laptop at this time. I would first remove the SSD and connect it externally using a USB to SATA Adapter, drive dock, or enclosure and booting the SSD externally to see whether you still have the same issues. If the laptop works fine when booting the SSD externally, then it may indicate the internal hard drive SATA Cable is bad (or possibly a compatibility issue with the SSD and this laptop).

The Battery really should not have much of an effect on the system crashing. You can try disconnecting the battery to see how the laptop works. I believe the laptop should run fine with the battery disconnected.....I do know that on the Retina models that disconnecting the battery can cause performance issues, but I don't recall this happening on the non-Retina models. In your case, the test is mainly to see whether the Kernel Panics and crashes continue, although if the CPU is throttled due to the disconnected battery, then it may affect the results. If the laptop gets hot and the fan runs faster than idle speeds, then the CPU is not being throttled.
