Microphone not working properly on the camera app only

Hi, this post was already made by somebody else but I have the exact same problem and no useful advice was given in the original post, so I will ask again:

The microphone on my iphone isn’t working properly when I record a video on the camera app. When I listen back, it's far too quiet as if the noise reduction is too strong but there's still some occasional noise at the same time which makes it sound like the noise is literally suppressing everything else.. But the weird thing is, when I film on snapchat or tiktok or any app really, it sounds perfectly normal. It appears to be a software issue of some kind.

Thank you in advance for any help but please do not mention anything of: removing dust or debris from the microphone (see "on camera app only"), facetime or checking if the microphone is enabled.

Hello EliasRiedel,

You mentioned this is only within the Camera app. As a test, is this occurring with slo-mo as well as the standard video speed? We just want to narrow down the variables. Also, at the time you're taking the video, do you have anything modified for the video or are you using just the standard settings?

Additionally, is your iPhone up to date? If not, please do so at this time.

Hi,

sorry for the late response. I tried filming with slo-mo and comparing it to a regular video by deactivating the slo-mo in the slo-mo video and listening to it and it turns out the audio is a little bit louder in that one, however still not anywhere near as loud or let alone clear as a video on Snapchat for example. On there it works absolutely perfectly and there's no static either, which is leading me to believe that the microphone is just suppressed by the static on the camera app.

I also tried filming on different resolutions, which is the only setting that could have been modified, and there was also a tiny but insignificant difference there, when switching from the 4k and 60fps I film at usually to 1080p and 60 fps.

My iPhone has retained the issue for multiple updates so that didn't help.
