Aligning two clips in Split Screen

I have 2 clips that I'm aligning in split-screen mode. I need to align the 2 audio peaks. The vertical line is aligned with the audio peak on the lower clip. If I try to align the upper clip by clicking and dragging, it seems to snap to either just before or just after the bottom clip. It won't let me move the top video with enough precision to get the 2 audio peaks to align. Is there a way to set this not to snap to align? Is this a iMovie bug? Any thoughts would be apprecaited.

Hi,

Try this: Position your top clip slightly to the right of where you want it to end up. Then select it and, while pressing the Option key, tap the < key ((next to the m key on your keyboard) to nudge the top clip to the left in one frame increments. It helps to have your timeline expanded out using the slider above and to the right of the time line. Unfortunately, this procedure does not work to nudge the clip to the right with the > key. It seems to be a left over feature from older versions of iMovie.
