iPad always rebooting on its own

My iPad suddenly started to reboot itself on the Apple logo.

I tried multiple times to update and restore my device through a computer with an USB cable, but it didn't work out.

It said that something occurred and it spelt "error".

Were you experiencing issues of spontaneous reboot prior to attempting an update of your iPad - or subsequent to the upgrade attempt?


A spontaneous restart is often symptomatic of a a failing iPad battery. Connect your iPad to its Power Adapter and allow the iPad to charge, undisturbed, for at least an hour - or preferably overnight. Then, while still connected to external power, try a forced-restart:


  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
