i cant download any apos without apple trying to charge me. i cant diwnload anything on my new phone
Why can’t I download anything without it taking me to the payment method part. Even tho my apps are free?

Even if the apps are free, you need a valid payment method on file with Apple because of in-app purchases. You won't be charged for free apps.
If you don't want to use a credit card, you can use an Apple gift card.
