Can I selectively turn off iCloud Drive?

Hello,

I have a Mac mini with 500gb storage and a MacBook Pro with 256 GB storage. iCloud Drive is enabled on both devices. Because my MacBook Pro has limited storage, it is almost running out of storage room on the SSD. Both devices are on the same Apple ID. My question is this. Can I disable the iCloud Drive on my MacBook Pro and reclaim that space, but still leave the iCloud Drive enabled on my Mac mini?

Thank you,

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Of course. Be sure to turn off iCloud Drive before deleting files from the MacBook. Otherwise, your files will delete as they sync
