Blocked email sender

Hi. I’ve blocked various email senders and updated the settings to send these to the trash but I still keep getting some senders making it through to my inbox. And it informing me that they’re from the blocked list but still showing in the inbox as below. Am I missing something?

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 16

Hello Rjw_22,

This page may assist in regards to blocking emails on the device: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

It sounds like you may have it configured to have them move to the trash as desired. You may try toggling this to "Leave in Inbox", wait a minute and then switch back to "Move to Trash" at Settings > Mail Blocked Sender Options. Then see if this helps with subsequent emails that arrive.

Be sure to also check for any available updates for the device. On iOS the latest version is currently 16.0.3. If needed, this page can help with updating: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. Choose the software update that you want to install. You can choose to stay on iOS or iPadOS 15 and still get important security updates. Or you can choose the option to upgrade to iOS or iPadOS 16.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

If it still persists afterwards, you may try reaching out to Apple Support for a deeper investigation: Apple Support

Cheers.
