Storage removal

How to create more space and delete items to keep phone from slowing, freezing up. Please need complete information for using first iPhone that was lent to me from daughter and still has some of her items stored on phone. Don’t want to delete her stuff if not saved to her iCloud. And she’s not available to ask currently and need to delete to keep using phone. Help please!?!
