Recycling apple products

My macbook pro had water damage a few months ago. I've since replaced the computer but still have a broken laptop just sitting in my room. What can I do with it and where can I take it? The laptop no longer turns on so I can't erase anything from it.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Apple Trade In will recycle devices at an Apple Store or you can arrange the trade online. See: Apple Trade In - Apple

Other options include doing an internet search for an electronic recycler in your area or if you have a Best Buy nearby, see: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/services/recycling/pcmcat149900050025.c?id=pcmcat149900050025
