NEW IPad Pro 2022 M2 WIFI + CELLULAR carrier unlocked or not?

I am getting a new IPad Pro 2022 M2 from Australia WIFI + CELLULAR. Would it be carrier unlocked? Because I also need it to work in India?

iPads with cellular data have always been unlocked.

Newer iPads with the eSIM capability can use any combination of multiple cellular service carrierrs.

So, you should NOT encounter any issues with using any cellukar service carrier of your choice.

iPad models purchased directly from Apple and not subsidy/network locked - and for WiFi+Cellular models can be used with any compatible cellular network. If instead you purchase an iPad from a Cellular carrier, the iPad may be locked to the carrier; similarly, the eSIM in some circumstances might be permanently disabled.

While subsidy locks can often be removed by the cellular carrier for a fee, a disabled eSIM cannot be re-enabled.

In summary, if your purchase directly from Apple - subject to compatible cellular network availability in your region - you should have no concerns about being able to use an iPad purchased in Australia in other countries.
