Change Apple ID

How do I change my Apple ID. Getting message: Cannot change to email not associated with account. Had created an alias email for this purpose. still not working.

Change mail Apple ID Hi, I want to change an email address on my Apple ID and I cant. It says "Apple ID Error: This email address is not available. Choose a different address." I deleted old Apple ID account last year. Now I want to change an email adress on my primary Apple ID in to this one (the deleted one) and it is not working. Any suggestions?

Does the alias show when you log into your Apple ID?
