New Apple ID made me loose all of my pictures

I created a new Apple ID since my family had all shared one account. None of my pictures transferred over to my new Apple ID. How do I get them back?

Your pictures, if synced in iCloud, are still in the old iCloud account. Otherwise, you can recover from your device backups or original sources
