Transfer to my new iPad

If the donor iPad, from which you are transferring your data precedes iOS12.4, QuickStart will not be available.

“Transfer” is rather a misnomer. In reality, your data and setup is merely cloned to the new device. Nothing is moved or removed from the original device.

An alternative is to restore either an iCloud or iTunes backup to the new device:

Three ways:

1. When initially setting up iPad it will ask you if you want to transfer from another device. You can say yes and it will display compatible devices
2. You can backup your old iPad to iCloud and restore the new iPad from that backup
3. You can backup old iPad to a computer and restore new iPad from that backup

I would select option #3 since it is fastest.
