How to upgrade from macOs High Sierra (10.13.6) to macOS Mojave (10.14)

I've an iMac 21.5" from 2011. Since a couple of days I've a message from Google warning me that I've to upgrade to macOs Mojave (10.14) in order to be able to continue to use Google Drive.

Is my iMac compatible with Mojave, and if so, how to upgrade from macOs High Sierra (10.13.6) to macOs Mojave (10.14) ?

Perhaps locate a newer one through an authorized Apple repair

which should have some years life left in the upgrade path. The
