Display/Monitor recommendation for MacBookAir M1 ?

Hi

I am migrating from my 7 year old iMac to a 2021 MacBookAir M1. I had expected/hoped to use my old iMac screen as a monitor when not on the move but I now believe that this isn't technically possible?

So, I need a good but not fiendishly expensive monitor.

I understand (from Macworld.com) that there are/were quite a few compatibilty issues with some monitors and the M1 chip but they say that Dell, Benq and Eizo are best. I am running Monterey 12.6 and am in the UK.

I am looking for a 27" screen that is height adjustable and hopefully gives as good an image as my Retina.

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

I am using an LG27UP600 (4K) with my M1 MacBook Air without any issues. This is the "base" model of the line. They make the versions with the next step up having adjustable stand and another step up which has all the bells and whistles such as USB-C connection and built in USB hub.

As with the other displays, toss the cables supplied by them and get high quality, certified cables.
