Hi MwanzaD,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to access Control Center and it open Spotlight Search instead.

If you haven't already, we would suggest that you restart your iPhone as it's the least invasive troubleshooting step for you: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

When you're attempting to access the Control Center, are you doing so within an app or are you on the Home Screen or Lock Screen? You can check that you have Control Center enabled in apps in Settings > Control Center > Access Within Apps. You can learn more here: Access Control Center on your iPhone - Apple Support

How to customize your settings
Need to quickly adjust the brightness of your display or change the volume? You can customize your Control Center settings to get to your apps, settings, and features with just a few taps.
Not sure what you can use from Control Center? Check out the list of apps, setting, and features.

If you haven't already, you may also consider creating a backup of your iPhone then update to iOS 16.1 and test Control Center again: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
