My iPhone 12’s USB-C cable doesn’t connect to Applecar play

My iPhone 12’s USB-C cable doesn’t connect with applycar play. I’ve tried one of the old apply usb cable and that works. Can you tell me why might be a problem?

Does your car have a USB C port? Not every USB port in the car may be connected to the head unit for features like CarPlay. Some are only for charging. Consult the owners manual for your car.
