Why is my message not auto-triggering a message effect in imessage?

Trying to send some Happy Diwali messages on imessage and others are receiving the message with fireworks effects. Somehow my iphone 13, ios 16 isn't showing the effects to me. I did get lasers for "pew pew". Just curious if this issue has happened to others.

I've had the effect work in the past on older phones (iphone 7, 11, etc). Tried all the usuals - reduce motion off, signed out/signed back in, updated everything.

Any tips?

Hi KDhandha273,

As the sender of the message you generally only see the effects once after sending them. To clarify, are you able to see other effects except the fireworks screen effect? If so, have you tried restarting your iPhone? This can sometimes help with minor software issues. Additionally, we'd recommend keeping your device up-to-date whenever possible. You can view your options for updating here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

We hope this helps.

Take care.
