Hey Wimberley,

Does this happen with all websites or only specific websites? Are you able to clear the notification or does it stay even after you cleared your notifications? Also, are you using Safari or another third-party web browser?

If you haven't yet, let's try restarting your Mac to see if it makes a difference. If the issue persists, see if you can reproduce the issue under safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.

Wimberley,

Thank you for the update. Since the Apple notification opened the article as expected, let's make sure the third-party apps have also been updated.

How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

How to manually update apps on your Mac
1. Open the App Store.
2. In the sidebar, click Updates.
3. Click Update next to an app to update only that app, or click Update All.
Mac showing the Updates page in the App Store.
If you didn’t get the app from the App Store on your Mac, contact the app developer to get help with updates.

Restart your iMac, and then test again. If you are still having the same issues after the update, you will want to contact Apple Support for more assistance with the issue.

Regards.

I'm using Safari with Monterey OS on an iMac. I click on "show" on an Alternet notification and the notification just goes away without opening the article. Same with Raw Story. Same with Daily Beast - "visit site" just closes the notification. Similar results with other notifications.

Furthermore, for quite awhile my Internet connection has been dropping out unexpectedly.

Then the dock on the right side of my display shrunk to the smallest option.

without any action on my part.

I'm downloading Ventura as we speak because I suspect Monterey has been corrupted, somehow.
