Apple watch 3
I’m trying to add a new watch to my phone that isn’t hooked up to any other watch and it won’t let me get past the update part. Is there anything I can do other than have apple fix it?

Cancel the Watch update and update your iPhone to iOS 16.1 first. , then try it again.
On your iPhone look in settings- General - software update - install
