Globe key and Command key shortcut window not showing on iPadOS 16.1

Hello.

Upgraded to iPadOS 16.1 yesterday. Now the ”shortcut window” when long pressing the Globe Key and Command Key are not showing whether I use Stage Manager or not. Tried to search for a solution, but did not find anything. What am I missing here?

Thanks!

I had the same problem, but I found a solution.

  1. For the command key to show the keybordvshortcuts go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards >Full Keyboard Access, ensure that Full Keyboard Access is turned on. Then On go to Settings > Accessibility > Zooming: turn it off (you can do this also via de control panel - swipe down on upper right corner an then de symbool for Accessibility).
  2. For the Globe key: go to Settings > General > Keyboard >Hardwarekeyboard (hope I translated this correctly) and then toggle the button on and off behind Push the globe (symbol) for emoji’s. Then it worked for me.

Hope it will work for you.

Hello Johan6.

Thank you very much for your reply!

This explains why the Command Key started working again yesterday. I was fiddling with the Zoom Settings, and later I noticed that the Command Key keyboard shortcuts worked again. However, it still worked when Zoom was active, but it absolutely seems to be related to this setting. So if it happens again, I’ll know where to start!

About the Globe Key it gets a bit odd. I followed your instructions, but when going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware keyboard (I don’t know the correct translation either, but I understood what you meant… :-)), I have no setting for ”Push the globe (symbol) for emojis”. But when exiting and trying press and hold the Globe Key again, the Globe Key keyboard shortcuts also work! Since I did not make any changes, I think maybe this also can be somehow related to the Zoom setting as well? But it works!

Thank you so much for this! Highly appreciated! I spent a fair amount of time searching for a solution and found nothing.

Regards,

/Joakim
