System Data is filling up my new iPhone pro max.

Hi there! Anyone else having trouble with their iPhone 14 pro max having no available space?

I have 500gb I use only around 80 GB. If I turn my phone off, restart it it goes back to around 80, then over the next few days it fills up and I get notifications that I have no space left for updates etc! I have never had this issue before !

I have seen it reported once and I will give the same advice.

After an update the System Other data can increase temporarily but there should not be 400GB of it! 5-10GB would be a good steady state value on top of the 8-9GB of System (iOS)

Look at Settings, General, iPhone storage and check it really is "full"

Make sure you are on iOS16.1 now

If it continues, Backup, restore to factory settings then restore the backup. That will remove bogus "Other"
