Max filesize Desktop pic

Is there a max filesize for Desktop pics – found some large pics from James Webb Space Telescops >120MB and wonder if that's ok to use?

It's fine if you want to use them. The only consideration is how much disk space they take up. If you save 10 of them they would use up 1.2GB+ of disk space.

What are the images’ dimensions in pixels?

If they much larger than the dimensions of your screen then you could save space and processing by rescaling them in Preview beforehand: Tools->Change Size…
