Why won’t the keyboard disappear when searching for stickers in Instagram?

When posting an Instagram story and searching for stickers, the keyboard doesn’t seem to disappear even after I clicked the return button in the search box. This is very annoying because it’s covering stickers that I want to use but can’t get to them because the keyboard is in the way. How do you close the keyboard? If this is a glitch can we fix it? I’m currently using iOS 16.0.3 but this was happening with iOS 15 as well. Help!

As you can see in the screenshot above there are the stickers the keyboard is hiding. But they only show when switching between apps.
