sumif not recognising dates properly?

I found something in the behaviour of a large spreadsheet  which puzzled me.  After much head scratching I eventually isolated and simplified the problem table and wonder if anyone can tell me what is going on.

Hopefully the  details below are fairly self explanatory. Total values in the last three footer lines should (I think) all be the same ($35)  but the two which depend on a date are incorrect - they seem to include value  for the 31 jan 22 date. Why?

The cells in invoice column are formatted as dates.

D10:      SUMIF($Date of Invoice,">"&$B$10,Total)
D11:      SUMIFS(Total,Date of Invoice,">"&B$11)
D12:      SUMIFS(Total,Misc,"=1")

With 2 digit years it is not possible to tell if the year is 0022, 2022, 3022, or some other millennium ending in 22. I would look at the year in row 4 to see if it is 2022. That looks like the row that is getting included incorrectly.
