Footnotes in tables in Pages

Hello! Wanted to know if it was possible to add footnotes to tables in Pages. I know it's a feature in Word, so I was wondering why is it that I can't do it on pages.

Can I use a function key to make a footnote shortcut for a Word document Writing several papers with required footnotes. I'm caught between Microsoft and Apple for the correct support. It would be a huge help not to have to go to the menu, then insert, then footnotes, then correct page, etc

Not possible. Footnotes are only usable in body text. Since Pages is not a Word clone, you will not find Word specific functionality in Pages.
