Apple cash icon

I have the Mac air 2020 and I was able to set up wallet and Apple pay in system settings. The issue here is there is no Apple cash enabled option neither a cash icon in imessages on my system. I've been wrestling with this issue for a few days few days now searching for answers via Google with no success. Can someone please help me. Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️.
