Can’t control volume while on call

Hi, I’m writing here because I couldn’t find a solution anywhere else. I can’t control volume while I’m listening a whatsapp audio via the front speaker, the one you listen with your ear and the screen turns black when you get your phone near your ear. Same happens when I’m on a call, the screens is black, I’m listening through the front speaker and I can’t control the volume, it seems like is fixed and I can’t change it.

but I do can change it while I’m on the call and the phone is not close to my ear, example in the picture.

please help me I’m desperate

It’s a software problem. It’s a iOS 16 bug. Many users reported the same. I don’t have a problem with the sound, thing is that volume buttons don’t work while I’m on a call and the screen is black, if I pull the phone away from

my head and the screens goes on there the volumen buttons work just fine.

If you have a hearing or sound issue on your device then please try some of these processes to set it right

If you have a distorted sound issue on your iPhone --> If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad
If you are not able to hear the other person, click this...>If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't ...
If you only hear through speakerphone mode --> If your iPhone is stuck in headphone mode - Apple Support
If the other person is not able to listen to you then please click this to identify the issue --> If the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch aren't ...

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support

I have the same problem on two phones. iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 11, both on iOS 16.1.2. Can't find a solution. I had the same problem on the previous iOS upgrade too.

I have the same issue. From what I am reading, the new iOS 16 has been causing this issue. Apple really needs to work on this and fix this bug. It’s causing an inconvenience when on a call. I have to pull the phone away just to raise the volume or lower it.

We asking to fix the software to adjust volume during call , please try it by yourself and you will find same problem
