AirPod 2nd generation case battery

I have a few day old AirPods second generation, and the case will lose battery very quickly once I put the AirPods back into the case. I use the AirPods for 2-3 minutes, and the case loses 5% battery. I have tried resetting the AirPods multiple times and restarting my IPhone XR

Hi SamuelPatto,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

Resetting the AirPods was a good troubleshooting step to try and one that we would have recommended.

The next step is to make sure the iPhone is running iOS 16.1 in Settings > General > About: Update your iPhone or iPad.

We want to make sure the iPhone is on the latest iOS so the AirPods have the latest firmware update installed. The firmware update will happen automatically: About firmware updates for AirPods.

If the issue remains after this, we'd next suggest taking a deeper dive with Apple Support.

Have a fantastic day!
