It sounds like the password isn't being accepted, or maybe the app was downloaded with a different Apple ID initially. Let's check into this to see if we can help.
If you change the password for your Apple ID and still a message showing it's incorrect, let's connect with a different Wi-Fi network to see if that clears this up. If not, let's have you try logging in using this link: Apple ID - Apple
If the password is accepted with the previous link, let's try deleting the app that you need to update then download it again. If the download completes and accepts the password, this would mean the app was downloaded with a different Apple ID and synced with your iPhone in the past.
