Power button on MacBook Pro 16 will not lock screen

I have a MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019) and ever since I upgraded to Ventura 13.0, when I push the power button it no longer locks the screen.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 11.0

That's correct.

Control Command Q is the keyboard short cut

or use the  dropdown menu

Is that by design now? Just don’t understand why they would disable that.
