My app privacy report is showing my photos being accessed at all hours when I am not using them and no apps have access. In theory, this shouldn’t be happening but it’s plain as day. I don’t even have iCloud photos on, so this really doesn’t make sense. Can someone please explain what’s going on?

Are you viewing the information through Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos? Also, is the issue with the Apple Photos app?

Because nothing else is running, so doing “housekeeping” in the middle of the night where it won’t interfere with anything else you are doing is the best time. If it did its sorting in the middle of the day it might make it appear that the phone was running slow.
Why would it be doing that in the middle of the night when no one is accessing the photos? I get it if I was opening the app but I’m not. I purposely have iCloud disabled because I don’t want 3rd parties having avenues to get into my stuff.
I’m viewing it in several different ways. The issue is that my phone appears to being accessed at all hours of the day when I don’t want it to be and the randomness of it makes it appear it’s not an automated function. My wife’s phone is worse, way worse.
It’s extremely disconcerting because it doesn’t appear to be a scheduled function, that it’s happening at random for random intervals. I’m trying to find reasonable explanations for this but I’m worried it’s something nefarious, given that my family has been stalked in the past.
I don’t sort though and don’t take pictures really. I won’t even open my photos for days and it’s happening. I’ve denied everything access to photos even. Also, I would get it if it happened one or twice in the middle of the night but coming back time and time again makes no sense. Especially when I have like a whopping 30 total photos on my phone.
