The only place would be Canon's website, but in almost all cases if you are required to install a driver for a printer, that printer is not likely to work on recent macOS versions.
Please review About AirPrint - Apple Support. There is a Canon MF445x that appears in that list, but it is not clear to me whether that x is meant to indicate a range of models (MF4451, MF4452, etc) assuming those models exist.
Check the specifications for your model printer. If it explicitly indicates AirPrint compatibility, then no driver is required.

Begin at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageclass-mf4450.
Click DOWNLOADS (top of the page).
Click open (arrow) Software & Drivers.
Select Mac as the Operating System.
Select Version (for example, macOS 13).
There should be seven results.
The second result here is the MF Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac V10.11.9 [macOS 10.12.6 - macOS 13], and there should be a DOWNLOAD button.
Depending on the web browser, it may not look exactly the same on your side. If necessary, empty the cache and start over. Please post back if you cannot locate the file(s).
Please note that this is for the imageCLASS MF4450 on the US support page.
Hi,
There is one imageCLASS MF4450 (US and others) and one i-SENSYS MF4450 (Europe). Both appear to be USB-only printers.
For the imageCLASS MF4450, drivers can be found here:
You may have to contact Canon about this. The driver V10.11.9 from 10/12/2022 is said to be for macOS 10.12.6 to macOS 13. Sorry, I have no idea about why it is not working. Also, you could perhaps have a look at the MF Printer Driver v10.11.9 User Guide for Mac (pdf) in the Manuals section of the support page.
Addendum
Be careful when downloading drivers from the Internet. There are several dubious third-party "support" sites, often with misleading names. Make sure that you download from an official web site of a printer manufacturer, or from another trustworthy source such as Apple.

thanks i did download this driver but when i try to access it on the macbook, there is a slash over it and it says the manufacturer needs to update the driver so it is not up to date with the current operating systems
Do you have a link for that particular driver that you spoke of? There are several drivers on the canon website but they do not fit that description. Can you provide a link for that particular driver that you mentioned? Thank you!
thanks, it looks like the driver now appears in a file on my MacBook and it does not have a cross over it.
now, I don't know how to 'add a printer' because it still is not listed as an option when I try to print something from my MacBook. I do have a driver, the question is how do I now add the printer to my list of available printers
Thank you kindly for your assistance. Will take a look at this Airprint link!
YOU KNOW WHAT? I FIGURED IT OUT. SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE A LICK OF TECHNOLOGY EXPERTISE GOT IT TO WORK.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN HELPING ME GET THIS DONE.
