how to physically lock a macbook air m2 ?

I've come to the conclusion that while staying at a hotel it would be best to leave my macbook air with a cable lock attached to something so it can not be taken away. Problem is, the macbook air does not have a slot where to attach such a lock, like most notebooks always have had.

Or do I oversee something here?

You are not missing anything. The old "Kensington lock slot" has not been incorporated in portable Macs for perhaps twenty years.

Unless you want this clunky thing, put it in a safe. Most hotel rooms have safes large enough for a MacBook Air.

Get a locking case/bag and put the computer into the case/bag. Then lock the case/bag to a non-moveable item.
