Apple doesn't participate here or come here for user feedback. The feedback link was provided above if you want to express your thoughts to anyone at Apple.

Oh and yes, I still use SMS. Most people I know do use SMS. Not everyone I know owns an iPhone.

And Apple designed Apple Watch as a companion to iPhone, NOT iPad or Mac at all.

I get what you want. But this isn't the place to debate it. We are NOT Apple. We didn't design Apple Watch. We have nothing to do with Apple engineering. We cannot change anything.

So use the feedback link and your thoughts at least will be read by Apple.

You do need an iPhone if you want an Apple Watch. Apple ONLY designed Apple Watch to pair with iPhone. And by not having an iPhone, means so many features of Apple Watch would never work such as you'd never get text messages (SMS, like from Android users) or Phone Calls, which is one of the MOST important features of Apple Watch. There are many more features, which wouldn't work through a computer.

so many features of Apple Watch would never work such as you'd never get text messages (SMS, like from Android users) --> who is still using sms now days ? I don't ... do you ? anyway not a blocking point, read next ...

Phone Calls--> not true most of the watch can now have a e-sim card so technically could received phone call.

There are many more features, which wouldn't work through a computer ==> feel free to enlight me, 38 years of IT behind me, all I can see is marketing I would be amazed to find any good technical reason that would justify it.

So instead of having the pleasure to see my health data either on a m1/m2 laptop or on an ipad, I always need to find my glasses to decipher the iphone small screen letter, just for marketing ...

I am sorry, but I am sure a lot of people are thinking the same, this been a user forum, my post if for those people to manifest here so maybe... apple will come to listen to us too ;) one can dream hahhahah
