Airtag stalking sound

I bought airtag and put it into my car. But stalking sound is annoying, security threat (thief can find it) and also I am afraid of battery life.

Do I understand correctly, that the stalking sound is intentionally not possible to remove by user and the only possibility how to mute the airtag is to remove speaker?

The chirping an AirTag makes when moved is to alert other users that they are potentially being tracked.

The chirping will not occur if a paired AppleID device is present in the car.

AirTags are intended to help YOU find YOUR

things that are commonly misplaced …

… they are NOT intended to surreptitiously track individuals or to help recover stolen property.
