AirPod Pro 1 suddenly stopped connecting. Can't reset or reconnect anymore.

My AirPod Pro 1s suddenly stopped working today. I opened the case and it said 100% for both the case and airpods, but as soon as I removed it, it said 0% for both. Then it won't connect at all.

  • I've charged the case using different cables for multiple hours and the cases still blinks orange.
  • I tried re-pairing it by forgetting it on my iPhone and then resetting the case, but 9/10 times my iPhone won't even find it. Once in a while it will actually find it to pair, but when it says to hold the button to pair, the case blinks orange and white and never finds it.
  • My iPhone can find and pair other bluetooth devices I have no problem
  • I've reset the airpods case by long holding the button multiple times.
  • I've reboot the phone and reset the network on my phone and no change.
  • I can't find or pair it with any other device (ipads, my laptop)
  • When I plug it in, I can see the orange light come on. While connected, I can push the button and it turns orange. But it never turns green even after hours of charging. I also tried connecting to my PC and my PC does that beeping sound when it recognizes USB devices connected.

Are the airpods just broken and can't hold a charge anymore or something? They are 2 years old with very moderate usage.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Think I figured this out. The cable connection charger on the case is broken. I can successfully charge it using a wireless charger and then it connects and works fine with my iphone. Using the cable to charge somehow recognizes that it's plugged in but actually doesn't charge anything. Guess that's broken...

Hey there eyepwn,

It sounds like you've narrowed it down to the AirPods themselves seeing as the same issue occurs when trying to pair it with another device, along with your iPhone pairing to other devices without any issues.

While you mentioned trying some great steps, please try any remaining ones listed here: If your AirPods won't connect

If the issue remains, the next step would be to have a tech inspect your AirPods by contacting Apple Support to review your options: Get Support

Cheers!
