Calculator?

I've never really used an iPad before, so be gentle. Where's the Calculator app hidden? It does have a calculator, right? How could it not have a calculator? Please tell me there's a calculator app somewhere, maybe with a different name.

Thanks.

Thank you Michel.

I'm sorry, but this is a level of stupid I could not conceive possible of Apple, let alone any other company. One of the most fundamental tools of a computing device is not supplied by manufacturer. It can include crap like Photo Booth but not a calculator. Federighi should join Forstall and be shown the door. He's lost the plot.

There has never, ever been a native calculator app for iPad.

Apple never finished developing or designing an acceptable and unique calculator app for iPad.

And, for the past 10 years, now, since, there is a whole third party, iOS App Store marketplace/cottage industry for a plethora of exceptional iPad calculator apps, now!

So, a native iPadOS calculator app for iPad is, now, not even being considered, any longer, by Apple.

Apple had an opportunity to create a unique iPad calculator app for iPad with the totally redesigned iPadOS, but Apple, once again, squandered this perfect opportunity.

Tap and read the story below.

Also, YouTube video with an included interview with Craig Federighi, from Apple on why NO calculator app for iPad/iPadOS.

Craig Federighi, from Apple, interview is at the 2 minute 50 second mark of this video.

Apple just has a lot of other priorities and a calculator app aimed/designed just for iPad is no longer one of Apple’s priorities.

Apple has waaay too many other irons in the fire, already.

You will need to go to the iOS App Store and decide on a free or paid ( to remove ads ) third party calculator apps.

If you are one of these groups of users who is, vehemently, opposed to paying any third party iPad calculator app developer for their work in creating such apps, here is, but one totally free ( no ads ) calculator app that you can add to your iPad, from the iOS App Store .

Sci:Pro Calculator.

There are many more third party calculator apps. Some free with ads.

Others that range from $0.99- $2.99 that offer both no ads and additional features that add value to their calculator apps.

The choices are up to you.

I use Calc-Pro HD for iPad and Digits

Calc Pro HD -iPad Calculator

Digits Tape Calculator

PLENTY of third party calculator apps, for iPad, to choose from.

Best of Luck to You!

Apple never had a full, comprehensive, full screen, native weather app, for iPads, for over 12 years!

A full screen, native weather app is new to all iPads that are compatible with iPadOS 16/16.

So, not that hard to believe, for me, as a 12-year iPad user.

The calculator app for iPad has been a long-standing issue and ommission, with Apple, and appears that it is going to stay that way.

No problem.

There have been many questionable things that Apple has done over the years, even when Mr.Jobs was alive.

So, thiis one is not that surprising to me.

The biggest thing I find questonable from Apple, presently, is the new 10th gen base model iPad that is, basically stripped down iPad Air 4th/5th gen with lesser capability and a higher base model price.

But that is s WHOLE ’nother topic.

There are LOTS of great third calculator apps to choose from, though as there is lots of third party developer competition innthe iOS App Store.

I am sure you'll find one you might like for your iPad.

Best of Luck to You!

Michel
