No remote access to homekit from Homepod Mini outside USA

Hi, I purchased an Apple Homepod Mini and currently using it in Trinidad and Tobago. It works fine when I set my location to United States but when I use my country as the location of my apple account, I no longer get remote access or the ability to use the automation tab of the Home app. Please assist in providing a fix for the issue.
